abstract PURPOSE: To soften a water-absorbing composite material without deteriorating the water-absorptivity and water-retainability and to obtain a composite material having wide application range. n CONSTITUTION: A water-absorbing composite material is produced by fixing a water-absorbing polymer to a substrate by radical polymerization.
