abstract PURPOSE: To form a surface modified layer high in erosion resistance on an area easily subjected to erosion at the front edge part in a turbine blade made of a Ti allay. n CONSTITUTION: An area easily subjected to erosion at the front edge part 4 is irradiated with a laser beam 14 and is melted and solidified into a spot shape.
