titleOfInvention | Amorphous pet sheet and preparation thereof |
abstract | PURPOSE:To efficiently and inexpensively prepare an amorphous PET sheet having hydrolizable properties by heating and melting a dehumidified and dried raw material PET (polyethylene terephthalate) without exposing the same to the open air and subsequently cooling the same rapidly. CONSTITUTION:In preparing amorphous PET suitable for a material making a packing container generating no chlorine gas at the time of incineration, at first, the raw material PET with intrinsic viscosity of 0.84 is charged in a dryer 1 and subjected to dehumidifying and drying treatment at drying temp. of 150 deg.C for 4hr using dry air with a dew point of -30 deg.C and, subsequently, the dried raw material PET is fed to a hopper 2 along with a silica particle as an antiblocking agent by dry air without being exposed to the open air and melted in an extruder 3 under heating to be allowed to flow out of a T-die 4 and the extruded PET is held between two cooling rolls 5, 5' to be rapidly cooled in a state made uniform in thickness and taken up by a taking-up roll 6. |
