titleOfInvention New antibiotic substance sf2698 and production thereof
abstract NEW MATERIAL:An antibiotic substance expressed by the formula and salts thereof. Appearance; colorless crystals. Melting point; decomposing at ≥250°C without showing a sharp melting point. Molecular formula; C 6 H 8 N 2 O 2 .1/2HCl. Mass spectrum [high resolution-mass spectrometry (HR-MS)]; calculated value (m/z) 140.0585 (C 6 H 8 N 2 O 2 ). Specific rotatory power; [α] -50° (C 1.0, water). Solubility; soluble in water and methanol and insoluble in organic solvents such as ethyl acetate. Color reaction; positive to the Greig-Leaback(GL) reagent and penetacyanoaquoferrate reagent and assuming yellow color with ninhydrin reagent. n USE: An antimicrobial agent useful for treating fungal infectious diseases. n PREPARATION: A microorganism, belonging to the genus Streptomyces and capable of producing a substance SF2698 is cultured by a submerged culture method, etc., and the objective antibiotic substance SF2698 is obtained from the resultant culture by a method for purifying with chromatography using an adsorbent such as active carbon. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
