PURPOSE: To obtain a partially new carbamonitriamino yellow direct dye stable in an alkaline prescription, suitable for hair dyeing use. and having high light stability and laundry fastness. n CONSTITUTION: This hair dye composition contains an effective dyeing amount of a partially new compound of formula I (R 1 to R 4 are each H, an alkyl, mono to polyhydroxyalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkoxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, or dialkylaminoalkyl, the respective alkyl and alkoxy groups being of 1-6C; R 5 is H or a 1-6C alkyl; pref. R 1 is H; R 2 is a 2-4C hydroxyalkyl; and R 3 is H), esp. new 4-(2-hydroxyethylamino)-3-nitrobenzamide. Of the above compounds, a compound of formula II [R 1 , R 1 plus R 3 , R 1 plus R 3 plus R 4 , and R 3 plus R 4 are each CH 2 CH 2 OH, the others being H; or R 1 is CH 2 CH(CH 3 )OH, the others being H] is a new substance, and can be synthesized, for example, by reaction of 4-chloro-3-nitrobenzamide with a selected amine such as 4- ethanolamine. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO |
