titleOfInvention Deodorant
abstract PURPOSE: To provide a deodorant having excellent and durable deodorizing effect, comfortable to use and effective for decreasing unpleasant body odor such as armpit smell, foot smell and sweat smell. n CONSTITUTION: The deodorant having the above effect can be produced by adding a substance exhibiting buffering action at pH 3-5.5, e.g. lactic acid-sodium lactate, citric acid-disodium phosphate and tartaric acid-sodium tartrate at a concentration of usually 0.01-1wt.% (preferably 0.05-0.3wt.%), thereby adjusting the pH of the deodorant to 3-5.5. The buffering agent may be used as it is, however, it is preferably used by dissolving in water or a solvent such as water- ethanol. The deodorizing effect can further be improved by compounding the agent with an oil-absorbing polymer such as an acrylate copolymer having the structural unit of formula I and formula II (R is 1-30C straight or branched- chain alkyl or alkylene) and a porous vinyl polymer produced by polymerizing and poromerizing one or more vinyl monomers having a solubility parameter of 7-10. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
