abstract |
PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. excellent in mechanical durability and useful in applications where a long-term continuous load or a repeated load is applied by compounding a specific modified PP with specific amts. of a glass fiber and a mica powder. CONSTITUTION:A mixture obtd. by mixing a crystalline PP at least with 0.02-2wt.% unsatd. acid (e.g. maleic acid), 0.1-3wt.% unsatd. silane (e.g. 3- methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane), and an org. peroxide [e.g. 1,3-bis(t- butylperoxyisopropyl)benzene] is thermally melted to give a modified PP. 40-75wt.% said modified PP, 10-35wt.% glass fiber, and 15-45wt.% mica are compounded in such a manner that the sum of the glass fiber and the mica is 25-60wt.% based on the resulting compsn. |
