abstract PURPOSE: To readily obtain the subject cyanoimino-substituted heterocyclic compounds useful as medical drugs, etc., without industrial pollution in a mild condition by reacting an N-cyanoiminodialkyl (or diphenyl) carbonate with an alkylene diamine. n CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (R is 1-6C lower alkyl or phenyl) is reacted with a compound of formula II (R 1 and R 2 are H, 1-18C alkyl, phenyl, benzyl, etc.; R 3 to R 6 are H or 1-5C alkyl; n 15 0 or 1) to obtain the objective compound of formula III. The above-mentioned reaction is carried out in a condition where the ratio of the compound of formula II to the compound of formula I is specified to (formula II)/(formula I)=0.5-1.5, preferably 0.8-1.2. This production method is free from a malodorous raw material compound, by-production of mercaptan, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
