titleOfInvention Aromatic polyester carbonate
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare an arom. polyester carbonate excellent in melt moldability and heat resistance and having high strengths and high elastic moduli. n CONSTITUTION: A liq. crystalline arom. polyester carbonate which is insol. in p-chlorophenol or has, when sol. in it, an inherent viscosity (0.1g/dl soln., at 50°C) of 0.5dl/g of higher and comprises structural units derived from p- hydroxybenzoic acid (a), naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (b), an arom. dihydroxy compd. (c), carbonic acid (d), and, if necessary, an arom. dicarboxylic acid other than naphthalene-1,6-dicarboxylic acid (e) in amts. satisfying the formulas: a+b+c+d+e=1, c=b+d+e, b/(b+e)>0.5, and d/(b+d+e)=0.02-0.7. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
