titleOfInvention Substituted phenol, colorimetric analyzing method for detecting oxidative coupling reaction and coupling component
abstract PURPOSE: To the new substituted phenol useful as a coupling component for an oxidative coupling reaction which at least partially avoids scarce stability and nonspecific reactivity. n CONSTITUTION: This compound of the formula I, e.g. 2,4-dibromo-3-hydroxy- phenyl acetate, can be produced through i) the process for converting the compound II into the compound of the formula III by removing the nitro group in the 6-position of the aromatic ring, ii) the process for obtaining the compound of the formula IV by brominating or chlorinating the 2-position and 4-position in the aromatic ring and iii) the process for converting into a diazonium salt preferably after reducing the nitro group in the 6-position in the aromatic ring into an amino group, and subsequently through a reduction and removal process. And this compound is advantageous as a coupling component in the colorimetry for detecting an oxidative coupling reaction by allowing a developer ingredient to react and to be turned into a coloring matter in the presence of an oxidizing agent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
