titleOfInvention Substituted chlorotriazine useful for reactive capping of polyphenylene ether
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound which is excellent in hydrolytic stability, toughness, heat resistance and dielectric strength, and is useful as compatibilizer of polyphenylene ether. n CONSTITUTION: This is a compound of formula I (X 1 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, aromatic, formula II; X 2 is a group substitutable by nucleophile aliphatic substitution; Z is O, S; R 1 is H, primary or secondary alkyl or 1-4C, etc.; R 2 is alkylene of 1-3C, primary, secondary alkyl or 1-4C, etc.; R 3 is R 1 , X 2 ; (m) is 0 or 1; (n) 1 to 3). The compound is obtained by allowing cyanuric chloride to react with the primary hydroxy or thio compound of formula III in a solvent such as methylenechloride, etc., in the presence of a hydrochloride scavenger at ≤10°C, and subsequently to react similarly with the secondary hydroxy or thio compound shown by formula X 1 ZH. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
