titleOfInvention Method for high-density culture of bacillus subtilis and apparatus for culture
abstract PURPOSE: To culture Bacillus subtilis at a high density with excellent reproducibility by controlling the time for feeding a culture solution, air feed rate to a nutrient source, stirring speed, etc., according to a specific method and keeping the dissolved oxygen concentration or pH of the culture solution at a prescribed value. n CONSTITUTION: The dissolved oxygen concentration or pH in a culture solution is used as a control parameter to control the selection of nutrient sources such as glucose or culture medium ingredients, the time for feeding the nutrient sources, air feed rate to the culture solution and stirring speed of the culture solution. Thereby, the dissolved oxygen concentration in the culture solution or its pH is kept at a prescribed value. In the initial period of culture, the dissolved oxygen concentration is controlled and the stirring speed and air feed rate are preferably gradually increased at the same time. Furthermore, the pH is preferably controlled in the latter period of the culture. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
