titleOfInvention Oxidized type glutathione alkyl ester
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title new compound for e.g. acute and chronic hepatopathy inhibitory agents by oxidizing a specific reduced type glutathione monoalkyl ester with air, hydrogen peroxide or iodine, etc., in an aqueous solution or water base solution. n CONSTITUTION: The objective compound (or its salt) of formula II (e.g. γ- glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine isopropyl ester disulfide) can be obtained by oxidation, with an oxidizing agent such as air, hydrogen peroxide or iodine in an aqueous solution or water base solution, of a reduced type glutathione monoalkyl ester of formula I (R is lower alkyl) (e.g. t-γ-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine isopropyl ester sulfate). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
