abstract PURPOSE: To provide a herbicide composition comprising plural specific chemical ingredients, having a herbicidal range exceeding the application ranges of the chemical ingredients, rapidly exhibiting a herbicidal effect exceeding the herbicidal effects of the chemical ingredients in reduced amounts of the ingredients and having improved safety for corns. n CONSTITUTION: A herbicidal composition comprises (A) one kind or more of compounds of formula I (R 1 is phenyl which may be substituted; R 2 is halogen, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylsulfonyl, alkyl, alkoxyalkyl alkoxycarbonyl) or salts thereof, and (B) one kind or more of atrazine, cyanazine, bentazon, bromoxynil, 2,4-D, dicamba, nicosulfuron and premisulflonemethyl preferably in an A:B weight ratio of 4:1 to 1:25 as active ingredients. The herbicidal composition has good selectivity for corns and exhibits a high herbicidal potency against Setaria viridis, Xanthium strumarium, etc., which are important weeds in corn upland fields. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
