PURPOSE: To obtain an enzyme phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase(PEPC) and a preparation thereof. n CONSTITUTION: This enzyme phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase is characterized in that a specific activity thereof is at least 40 unit/mg, and/or a loss of the activity after 60 days in 167 mM Tricine/HCl buffer is ≤50%, and/or the activity at pH6.5 is at least 40% as compared with the activity at an optimum pH. The enzymatic activity can be obtained from a serine pathway methylotrophs such as Hyphomicrobium, and is very suitable for a use in measuring a biocarbonate in a biological sample. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO |
