titleOfInvention Elastomer and product with reduced hysteresis
abstract PURPOSE: To reduce hysteresis by polymerizing an anionically polymerizable monomer in the presence of a specific initiator. n CONSTITUTION: An anionic polymerization initiator is obtained by reacting a functionalizing agent selected from substituted aldimine, ketimine and secondary amine with an organic lithium compound. One or more anionically polymerizable monomers are dissolved in a solvent and polymerized in the presence of the polymerization initiator to obtain a polymer functionalized at a functional group X (wherein X is derived from the reaction product of the functionalizing agent and the organic lithium compound and Li in the organic lithium compound is held at the other end of the polymer chain prior to quenching) at the end of the initiator. A vulcanizable elastomer compound is obtained by blending 100 pts.wt. the polymer with 5-80 pts.wt. carbon black. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
