titleOfInvention Preparation of pyridine carboxylic acid derivative
abstract PURPOSE: To efficiently obtain a pyridine carboxylic acid deriv. under relatively mild conditions by bringing oxime into reaction with alkene under neutral or weakly acidic conditions. n CONSTITUTION: This compd. of formula IV which is a synthetic intermediate useful for herbicides is obtd. by reacting the oxime of formula I [R 3 is H, halogen, 1 to 6C alkyl, alkenyl, (substd.) phenyl; R 4 , R 7 are each H, 1 to 6C alkyl, alkenyl, (substd.) phenyl; and R 3 and R 4 are together (CH 2 ) 3 to 10 ] with the alkene of formula II or formula III [R 5 , R 6 are each H, COZ, CN or together CO-NR 10 -CO (R 10 is H, alkyl, aryl, OH, etc.); and Z is OR 8 , NR 8 R 9 (R 8 , R 9 are H, alkyl, aryl or an aliphat. or arom. heterocyclic structure together with N to be bonded)] at 80 to 250°C, more preferably 130 to 145°C under the weakly acidic conditions of pH2 to 7, more preferably pH3 to 5. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
