abstract PURPOSE: To enhance fire retardancy and weld line strength by compounding a polycarbonate polymer, an ABS polymer, a phosphate type fire retardant compd. and polyalkyl methacrylate polymer. n CONSTITUTION: The objective compd. is obtained by compounding 65-85 wt.% of a polycarbonate polymer produced from bisphenol (a), 5-25 wt.% of an ABS resin (b) which is a polymer wherein a styrene/acrylonitrile polymer is pref. grafted on a diene substrate and may contain a free ungrafted styrene/ acrylonitrile polymer, 1 25 wt.% of a phosphate type fire retardant (c) selected from among triaryl phosphate, trialkyl phosphate and alkylaryl phosphate and 1 20 wt.% of a polyalkyl methacrylate (d) being polymethyl methacrylate and, if necessary, a (co)polymer with 1-4C alkyl acrylate. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO
