abstract PURPOSE: To improve the preservability of a packaged food by the effect of sealed carbon dioxide gas and to release excellent fragrance in the case of opening the packaged food by sealing a food together with carbon dioxide gas having dense fragrance desirable for the food in the packaging of the food. n CONSTITUTION: A fragrant (flavor) raw material 3 supplied from a raw material tank 13 is made to countercurrently contact in an extraction column 5 with a liquefied or supercritical carbon dioxide supplied from a carbon dioxide bomb. The fragrant component in the raw material 3 is extracted and transferred to the carbon dioxide by this process.
