titleOfInvention Durably hydrophilic hot-melt conjugate fiber
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fiber having low dissolution tendency by using a sheath component produced by adding a specific hydrophilic modifier to a specific amorphous copolyester. n CONSTITUTION: The objective conjugate fiber is composed of a sheath component (a) consisting of an amorphous polyester incorporated with 0.2-20wt.% of a hydrophilic modifier and a core component (b) consisting of a thermoplastic polymer having a melting point of ≥150°C and higher than that of the polyester of the sheath component at a weight ratio (sheath:core) of 20:80 to 80:20. The hydrophilic modifier is a compound containing a group having a polyalkylene oxide chain bonded to a polyalkylene polyamine skeleton and has an HLB of 6.0-16.0, an average molecular weight of ≥10,000 and an amine value of ≤500. The polyester used as the sheath component has a melting point of 90-200°C, a heat of crystal melting of ≥2.0cal/g and a shortest crystallization time of ≥80sec. The sum of TA unit and isophthalic acid unit in the acid unit is ≥60mol% and the sum of 1,6-hexanediol unit and 1,4-butanediol unit in the glycol unit is ≥60mol%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
