PURPOSE: To obtain a cholesterol inhibitor, containing ε-polylysine as an active ingredient and capable of exhibiting effects by an extremely small intake. n CONSTITUTION: A cholesterol inhibitor is obtained by including ε-polylysine which is a water-soluble polypeptide, having a relatively low molecular weight and expressed by the formula [(n) is the polymerization degree] as an active ingredient. The ε-polylysine in which (n) is within the range of 2-100 is preferred. Harsh taste of especially the ε-polylysine wherein (n) is 2-19 is considerably reduced and ingestion is readily carried out.
