abstract PURPOSE: To efficiently collect various kinds of products with unit operation by bringing a molten metal spray into reaction with a gaseous metal halogen compd. of the circumference during splashing of the molten metal spray, thereby forming an alloy, intermetallic compd. or composite product. n CONSTITUTION: This metallic material (for example, aluminum powder) is introduced into the flames at the front end of a DC plasma torch 10 mounted on a reactor 12. The metallic material is melted (splashed) and is brought into reaction with the gaseous high-metal halide (for example, TiCl 4 ) of the circumference to form the alloy, the intermetallic compd. or the composite product.
