titleOfInvention | Method and apparatus for monitoring gas or fine particle |
abstract | PURPOSE:To monitor gas or a fine particle using a live plant. CONSTITUTION:In monitoring gas or a fine particle, at first, carbon dioxide is supplied to a live plant while the plant is irradiated with exciting light and the fluorescence generated from the plant is detected and, next, carbon dioxide containing gas or a fine particle to be monitored is supplied to the plant while the plant is irradiated with exciting light in the same way and the fluorescence generated from the plant is detected. When the fluorescence generated when carbon dioxide is supplied under the irradiation with exciting light and the fluorescence generated when carbon dioxide containing a very small amount of gas or a fine particle is supplied under the irradiation with exciting light are detected to be compared with each other, the intensities or wavelengths of fluorescence in these two cases are different according to the amount or kind of the gas or fine particle and, therefore, the gas or fine particle can be monitored from the above mentioned comparison result. |
