abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain an antimicrobial and deodorizing agent suitable as an antimicrobial and deodorizing component in a packaging material for keeping freshness of fresh foods, etc., safe in view of food sanitation and abundantly having functions such as antiseptic (antibacterial) property, deodorant property, suppression of oxidation, adsorbing and neutralizing properties, comprising a water extract of soil. n CONSTITUTION: Water extract of soil is used as an active ingredient of an antibacterial and deodorizing agent solely or in combination with another substance (material), and preferably said extract is adhered to or coated on a packaging material such as a plastic film, a cloth (preferably nonwoven cloth) or paper, preferably in an amount of 0.3-1.0wt.% of the packaging material, to afford a packaging material for keeping freshness of fresh foods, etc., in which said antimicrobial and deodorizing agent exhibits the above-mentioned various functions and is safe in view of food sanitation having freshness-keeping and distribution-accelerating effect on fresh foods, etc. Besides, as adhesive adhering the extract to the packaging material, carboxymethylcellulose or polyvinyl alcohol is preferably used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
