titleOfInvention | Polyaryl ether ketone and its production |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a polyaryl ether ketone, having a high polymerization degree and excellent in heat resistance, mechanical characteristics, chemical stability, etc., and stably and efficiently produce the aforementioned polyaryl ether ketone. n CONSTITUTION: An aromatic dihydroxy compound expressed by formula I is thermally reacted with an aromatic dihalo compound (e.g. 4,4'- difluorobenzophenone) having an electron attractive group at the o-or p-position with respect to the halogen atoms in the presence of an alkali compound (e.g. sodium carbonate) to afford the objective polyaryl ether ketone, mainly composed of recurring units expressed by formula II [Ar is formulas III and/or IV (Ar' is bifunctional aromatic group; X is bifunctional electron attractive group; Y is monofunctional electron attractive group; n is 0 or 1)] and having ≥0.2 intrinsic viscosity. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
