abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the title compd. which quickly develops color at low temp., has a high solubility in a capsule oil, and is suitable as a pressure- sensitive recording material by reacting a specific benzoic acid deriv. with a specific diphenylamine deriv. n CONSTITUTION: A benzoic acid deriv. of formula I (wherein R 1 and R 2 are each cyclohexyl or n-butyl provided that they are different from each other) is made to react with a diphenylamine deriv. of formula II (wherein R 3 is lower alkyl) to give a fluoran compd. of formula III (wherein R 1 and R 2 are as described above) (e.g. a compd. of formula IV, V, or VI), which develops color quickly at low temp. when compared with a conventional fluoran compd. and has a high solubility in a capsule oil and properties sufficient as a pressure- sensitive recording material. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
