abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the plastic lens high in refractive index, low in water absorptivity, and superior in scratch resistance and reflection preventive effect by successively forming an acrylic primer layer, a silicone hard coat layer, and a reflection preventive layer made of an inorganic compound on the surface of the plastic lens obtained by polymerizing a hardenable composition comprising a prepolymer having a polythioether structure and another monomer. n CONSTITUTION: The plastic lens to be used is prepared by polymerizing the hardenable composition comprising the prepolymer having the polythioether structure obtained by additionally reacting 4,4'-(methacryloylthio)diphenylsulfide (A) represented by formula I to polythioether (B) represented by formula II, and the other monomer. This plastic lens is coated successively with the acrylic type primer layer of 0.1-3.0μm film thickness, the silicone hard coat layer of 0.5-6.0μm made of the hydrolyzate or the partially condensate of an organosilicon compound represented by formula III, and the reflection preventive layer made of an inorganic compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
