abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [X is 4-OH, 3-OH, 3,4-(OH) 2 ; (n) is 0-2]. n EXAMPLE: N-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)-4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzamide. n USE: A hepatopathy-suppressing agent. n PREPARATION: A carboxylic acid derivative of formula II is condensed with m-aminophenol, p-aminophenol or 4-aminocatechol by a condensation reaction method such as a mixed acid anhydrides method, and subsequently subjected to a protecting group-removing reaction to provide the compound of formula I.
