titleOfInvention | Polyimide having excellent thermal stability and its production |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the subject polymer resistant to the lowering of the mechanical properties in hot air and having excellent thermal oxidation stability by using a phenylenediamine compound, a specific tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and phthalic anhydride as raw materials. n CONSTITUTION: The objective polymer containing the recurring unit of formula V as principal skeleton and having molecular terminal sealed with dicarboxylic acid anhydride of formula IV can be produced by reacting a phenylenediamine compound of formula I with a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride of formula II (X is -Oor group of formula III) (e.g. 3,3',4,4'-diphenyl ether tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride) in the presence of 0.001-1mol of phthalic anhydride (based on 1mol of the compound of formula I) preferably at ≤50°C and thermally or chemically imidating the resultant polyamic acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
