NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [R 1 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl or NR 2 R 3 (R 2 and R 3 are H, alkyl, OH or aryl provided that R 3 and R 4 are not OH at the same time); R 4 is H, cation, aroyl, etc.; A is alkylene or alkenylene; B is H, halo, NO 2 , CN, SH, OH, alkyl, etc. ; Ar is phenyl, naphthyl, pyridyl, etc.; (n) is 0 or 1; (m) is 0-3; (p) is 1-6; (q) is 1 or 2]. n EXAMPLE: N-hydroxy-N-{(trans-2-phenyl-1-cyclopropyl)methyl}urea. n USE: It has lipoxygenase-inhibiting activity and is useful for the treatment or mitigation of inflammatory diseases, allergy and cardiovascular diseases of mammal. n PREPARATION: A compound of formula I wherein R 1 is CH 3 and R 4 is H can be produced by reacting a hydroxylamine of formula II (Q is group of formula III) with acetyl chloride or acetic anhydride and selectively hydrolyzing the resultant diacetyl compound of formula IV. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
