abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound in a high yield and high selectivety without forming cyclic by-products by bringing a bi-functional aliphatic alcohol into contact with a piperadine component-containing reactant amine in the presence of a specified catalyst. The aimed compound is useful as a synthetic intermediate for an insecticide. n CONSTITUTION: A bi-functional aliphatic alcohol and a reactant amine at least one of which contains a piperadine moiety is brought into contact with each other in the presence of a catalyst containing tungsten hetero-polyacid (a preferable example being H 3 [PW 12 O 40 ]) at 260-315°C and 400-200 psig to form an aimed compound. One of the most suitable aimed compound is N-(2-aminoethyl) piperadine, which is obtained from monoethanolamine as the bi-functional aliphatic alcohol and piperadine as the reactant amine. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO |
