titleOfInvention Image forming device and two-dimensional optical scanning device
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a function for forming and recording a two-dimensional image which is electronically controlled by transiting the state of an electrooptical medium by the photoelectric converting action of a photoconductor of a light valve. n CONSTITUTION: The electrooptical effect type light valve PALA 120 is provided with a chiral smectic C liquid crystal 101, etc., being the electrooptical medium having bistability inside and a transparent substrate 111 outside. The liquid crystal 101 is controlled to be in a bistable state by electric field impressed between electrodes 103 through the photoconductor 102, and the electric field is given to the electrode 103 from a recording electric field impressing means 106. Image light 104 is inputted in the photoconductor 102 from an image input means 105, and readout light 108 is separated from the image light 109 by a polarizing beam splitter 107 which constitutes a means for reading out the recorded image, then recording is performed by irradiating a photosensitive medium 130 with the readout light. In such a case, the image of the PALA 120 is formed on the medium 130. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
