titleOfInvention | Purification of glycidyl acrylate or glycidyl methacrylate |
abstract | PURPOSE: To purify the subject compound without lowering the recovery of the product by contacting a mixed gas with crude glycidyl acrylate or crude glycidyl methacrylate solution under specific temperature condition, thereby removing the impurities in high efficiency. n CONSTITUTION: Crude glycidyl acrylate or crude glycidyl methacrylate containing (A) residual epichlorohydrin formed by reaction and (B) volatile component formed as a by-product is purified using a gas-liquid contact process by contacting the component B with a gaseous mixture of an inert gas and oxygen gas having an oxygen gas concentration of 1-21vol.% at a temperature below the boiling point of the component B and above the boiling point of epichlorohydrin. Preferably, the inert gas is N 2 gas and the flow rate of the mixed gas is 0.1-500ml/min (flow rate at 20°C under normal pressure) per 1kg of the component B. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
