titleOfInvention Stable aqueous solution of clemastine fumarate
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a stable and clear aqueous solution useful as a drug composition by blending clemastine fumarate with a phosphoric acid buffer solution containing a water-soluble polymer compound such as polyvinyl pyrrolidone and a surfactant such as Tween 20 and adjusting to a specific pH. n CONSTITUTION: A phosphoric acid buffer solution containing 3-6% water-soluble polymer compound selected from polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyethylene glycol and polyvinyl alcohol and 0.01-0.5% surfactant such as Tween 20, Tween 60 or Tween 80 is blended with clemastine fumarate and adjusted to pH5.5-8.5 to give an aqueous solution of clemastine fumarate. By making clemastine fumarate into an aqueous solution, clemastine fumarate is made widely usable as a parenteral drug such as nasal drops, eye drops or lotion as an external preparation or a solution for injection. The aqueous solution is stable and clear. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
