abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a cold permanent wave lotion effective in preventing the hair damage caused by dyeing operation, etc., by adding a reducing agent comprising a solution mixed with a water-soluble natural sugar, etc., and a natural shellac resin to main components consisting of a thioglycolic acid and an alkaline agent. n CONSTITUTION: The objective lotion can be produced by adding (A) a reducing agent comprising a solution containing (A 1 ) one or more components selected from water-soluble natural sugar (e.g. glucose, maltose, dextran or pullulan), plasma or plasma substitute (e.g. solution of polyvinyl pyrrolidone or dextran) and (A 2 ) shellac (a natural resin) to (B) main components composed of thioglycolic acid or its salt used as a principal component and an alkaline agent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
