titleOfInvention | Activated carbon porous body |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a product excellent in adsorptivity by carbonizing and activating a phenol resin foamed body to make a planar activated caron porous body and providing a rugged pattern on at least one surface of the plate. n CONSTITUTION: A molded body of phenol resin foamed body as molded or cut into a plate is baked in a nonoxidative atmosphere for carbonization. Then this body is activated in an oxidative gas to obtain a planar activated carbon porous body. Then at least one surface of the activated porous body is worked to obtain a rugged pattern by providing lattice grooves, circular or slit holes, etc. This rugged pattern is formed not only on the surface but into the inside of the plate. Thereby, the apparent surface area of the activated carbon porous body is increased to improve the adsorptivity when the porous body is used in contact with gas or liquid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
