titleOfInvention Host and production of enclosure compound by the host
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an enclosure compd. enclosing orderly arranged discrete guests on a molecule level by dispersing the hosts obtained by linking many columnar molecules having a lipophilic principal chain on the surface of a lamellar crystal at regular intervals in a guest soln. and then removing the solvent. n CONSTITUTION: A columnar molecule 2 (e.g. alkylammonium ion) having a lipophilic principal chain 2b is linked respectively to the many linking sites (e.g. negatively charged part) distributed on the surface of a lamellar crystal 1 (e.g. montmorillonite) at regular intervals to form a host. The hosts are dispersed in a soln. of the guest 5 in a solvent, disintegrated into host pieces 3 for each unit lamellar crystal and mixed with the guests 5 on a molecule level. The solvent is then removed to reconstitute the host, hence each guest 5 is discretely enclosed in the guest hole 4 between the columnar molecules 2 of the host, and the enclosure compd. is obtained. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
