abstract | PURPOSE: To enhance the water-stopping characteristics by charging into a slit near an earth ground wall a mixture of an aqueous hydrophilic solution melted and solidified at a temperature of from normal temperature to a specific temperature and having a specified agar-agar concentration, a specified weight per unit volume and a specified water permeation, and inorganic fine powders/ organic paste material. n CONSTITUTION: An earth-ground improver which can be melted and solidified at a temperature from normal temperature to 100°C is charged and solidified into a slit 3 vertically formed near an earth ground wall 2, to form a deviation absorber 4. As this improver is used an aqueous solution of agar-agar, gelatine, or the like having affinity with water. The fusion temperature thereof is specified as 80 to 90°C while the solidification temperature thereof is as 30 to 40°C. Further, the agar-agar concentration of this aqueous solution is set to 0.2 to 4% and the weight thereof per unit volume is set to 1.0 to 1.3t/m 3 . Further, the water permeation coefficient thereof at the time when the earth ground improver is solidified due to temperature drop is specified as 1×10 -6 to 1×10 -8 cm/sec.
