abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition improved in the balance between flexibility and hydroscopicity without detriment to its heat resistance, impact resistance and surface hardness, etc., by mixing polybutylene glycol di(meta) acrylate with known components. n CONSTITUTION: A resin composition for cast polymerization mainly consisting of 10-90 pts.wt. polybutylene glycol di(meta)-acrylate (A) of formula I (wherein R 1 is H or CH 3 ; Y is a bivalent random, block or alternating copolyether comprising repeating units of formulas II and III, the number of repeating units of formula II is 1-17, the total of the numbers of repeating units of formulas II and III is 5-20; and one of R 2 and R 3 is H, and the other is 1-4C alkyl), 10-90 pts.wt. urethane poly(meta)acrylate having at least two (meta)acryloyloxy groups in the molecule and/or epoxy poly(meta)acrylate (B) and 0-80 pts.wt. (the total of components A-C is 100 pts.wt.) polymerizable double bond-containing compound (C). Because this composition contains component A, it can give a polymer having a good balance between flexibility and hygroscopicity without detriment to heat resistance, impact resistance, surface hardness, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
