titleOfInvention Optical resolution of (rs)-3-pyrrolidinol
abstract PURPOSE: To easily obtain an optically active 3-pyrrolidinol useful as a raw material for pharmaceuticals by reacting (RS)-3-pyrrolidinol with an optically active acid and separating the obtained diastereomer salt. n CONSTITUTION: (R)- or (S)-3-pyrrolidinol is produced by reacting (RS)-3- pyrrolidinol with an optically active acid (e.g. optically active N-benzoylglutamic acid, N-toluoylglutamic acid, 10-camphorsulfonic acid or camphoric acid) to form diastereomer salt, crystallizing one of the constituent salts, collecting the crystallized salt by filtration, recovering the other salt from the filtrate and decomposing each salt with an acid such as hydrochloric acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
