titleOfInvention Phenylalkylcarbamate derivative of polysaccharide and separating agent
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a phenylalkylcarbamate derivative of a polysaccharide desirable as a separating agent with an excellent power of performing especially optical resolution by substituting a polysaccharide with a specified atomic group. n CONSTITUTION: A phenylalkylcarbamate derivative of a polysaccharide prepared by substituting all or part of the hydrogen atoms of the hydroxyl or amino groups of the polysaccharide with atomic groups of formula I (wherein R is hydrogen or a 1-10C group, X is hydrogen, halogen or a 1-10C group, provided that the case in which both R and X are hydrogen atoms is excluded). The degree of substitution with the above atomic groups is at least 30% or above, desirably 50% or above. All of synthetic polysaccharides, natural polysaccharides and natural product-modified polysaccharides can be used as the polysaccharides so far as they are optically active. For example, amylose, cellulose, β-1,4- chitosan, inulin, curdlane, etc., are desirable. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
