abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a gelatin capsule composition having excellent stability because of no adhesion to a container even by allowing to stand at high temperature and no mutual bonding, showing safety to human body by blending gelatin with a humectant having an IOB value of ≤ a specific value in a specific ratio. n CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. gelatin is blended with 10-200 pts.wt. humectant having an IOB(inorganic organic balance) value of ≤3.5 such as propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, dipropylene glycol or 1,3-butylene glycol as essential components to give a gelatin capsule composition which has shape collapse slightly, hardly adheres to a preserving container, is readily taken out even by preservation in various containers for a long period of time because of difficult mutual bonding of capsules and is useful in the field of drugs, quasi- drugs, cosmetics, foods and miscellaneous goods, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
