abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain an α-olefin copolymer having specified properties by copolymerizing at least two monomers selected from among ethylene, a 3C or higher α-olefin and a diene compound in the presence of a specified olefin polymerization catalyst. n CONSTITUTION: An olefin polymerization catalyst which, when used in the homopolymerization of propylene, can give a polypropylene wherein the intensity ratio between Tβγ and Tββ in the 13 C-NMR spectrum is 0.001 or above, and the intensity ratio between Tβγ and Tαγ or the intensity ratio between Tαβ and Tαγ is 2 or above, is prepared. An example of the catalyst is one comprising a compound of a transition metal such as Ti or Hf (e.g. TiCl 4 ) and an organometallic compound (e.g. triethylaluminum). At least two monomers selected from among ethylene, a 3C or higher α-olefin (e.g. propylene) and a diene compound (e.g. 1,3-butadiene) are copolymerized in the presence of this catalyst to obtain an α-olefin copolymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
