titleOfInvention Exhaust gas purifying apparatus of engine
abstract PURPOSE: To effectively reduce the concn. of NOX at the outlet of an exhaust gas purifying apparatus by dispersing and mixing an NOX adsorbent adsorbing NOX at predetermined temp. or lower and a reducing catalyst component decomposing NOX in the vicinity of the said predetermined temp. to support both of them on a carrier. n CONSTITUTION: An exhaust gas purifying apparatus S is provided on the way of an exhaust pipe 1 and has a catalyst 2. The catalyst 2 is composed of a catalyst carrier 5 on which an NOX adsorbent 3 adsorbing NOX contained in exhaust gas within a low temp. region of predetermined temp. or lower and a reducing catalyst component 4 decomposing NOX contained in the exhaust gas within the high temp. range of the predetermined temp. or higher are supported in a dispersed and mixed state. The catalyst carrier 5 is provided in the casing 6 of the exhaust gas purifying apparatus S integrally formed along with an exhaust pipe 1. As the NOX adsorbent 3, composite oxide represented by BaO-CuO is used and, as the reducing catalyst component 4, it is proper to use zeolite ion-exchanged with a transition metal represented by a copper ion. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
