titleOfInvention Deodorizing method and biofilter for deodorizing
abstract PURPOSE: To remove hydrogen sulfide simply, rapidly and certainly by subjecting hydrogen sulfide in the air to oxidative decomposition by bacterial cells of bacteria belonging to the genus Rhodococcus. n CONSTITUTION: The air containing hydrogen sulfide is brought into contact with the bacterial cells of bacteria belonging to the genus Rhodococcus. As bacteria belonging to the genus rhodococcus, Rhodococcus sp MT 2040 (FFRM No. 10655) and Rhodococcus sp MT 2041 (FERM No. 10656) can be used. The contact of the bacterial cells of bacteria and hydrogen sulfide is usually performed by passing the air containing hydrogen sulfide through a filter wherein bacterial cells are immodibilized on a porous carrier such as a filter material or a filter membrane. By this method, hydrogen sulfide in the air having a malodor and harmful action such as metal discoloring action can be removed simply, rapidly and certainly. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
