titleOfInvention Production of liposome
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a liposome useful as a drug carrier by dissolving a component material for liposome membrane and a polymer material having amphipathic property in an org. solvent, removing the solvent by distillation to obtain a solid, and swelling and dispersing this solid in a water-base solvent. CONSTITUTION:A liposome membrane material comprising phospholipid such as soybean, yolk, etc., and a polymer material having amphipathic property, such as hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, etc., are dissolved in a volatile org. solvent such as diethyl ether, methylalcohol, etc. Then this solvent is removed by distillation to obtain a solid containing the liposome membrane component material. Then this solid is swolen and dispersed in a water-base solvent such as water, sodium chloride, etc., to obtain a liposome. The obtd. liposome is effective as a drug carrier and is industrially produced.
