abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a nonwoven fabric for adsorbing microorganisms having high efficiency of adsorption of microorganisms and low permeation resistance of a body to be treated by using fibers each consisting of a vinyl copolymer having a specified structure and a fiber forming resin. n CONSTITUTION: A vinyl copolymer represented by formula I (where R 1 is benzyl, 4-16C alkyl, etc., R 2 is H or 1-3C alkyl, X is halogen and Y is H, 1-3C alkyl, etc.) and a fiber forming resin such as a copolymer of acrylonitrile with an unsatd. ethylene compd. are dissolved in a solvent and spun. the resulting fibers or a mixture of the fibers with other fibers are used to obtain a nonwoven fabric.
