titleOfInvention Production of optically active hydroxyester and production of optically active five-membered lactone and purification thereof
abstract PURPOSE: To extremely easily, safely obtain in high optical purity at normal temperatures the title compound useful as an intermediate for synthesizing the sex pheromone for turf pests, using a specific means with hydroxyesters not optically pure as raw materials. n CONSTITUTION: Firstly, a mixture containing (A) an optically active (R)- hydroxyester of formula I (R 1 is -C≡C-R 3 or -C=C-R 3 ; R 2 and R 3 are each 1-10C chain alkyl) and (B) a (S)-optically active hydroxyester of formula II is subjected to a carboxylic acid (anhydride) in an organic solvent in the presence of a hydrolase to preferentially acylate the compound of the formula I into a (R)-optically active hydroxydiester of formula III (R 4 is 1-12C alkyl, aralkyl, etc.). Thence, the compound of the formula III and the compound of the formula II are separated through e.g. distillation, thus obtaining the objective compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio
