titleOfInvention | Method for reducing the tritium concentration in the atmosphere inside atomic reactor storage facility |
abstract | PURPOSE: To effectively reduce the concentration of tritium by condensing at least part of the water content in the atmosphere and then vaporing at least part of this condensed water into the atmosphere. n CONSTITUTION: When a condenser 11 is made 'ON' to start its operation, the water component in the atmosphere 3 starts to be condensed at first and gradually a saturation temperature is reached with the result that the concentration is terminated. With the starting, and the rising in the output level, of an atomic reactor 1, tritium is emitted from the reactor, whereby the concentration of tritium in the atmosphere 3 increases. The steam in the atmosphere 3 starts to be condensed. Since this steam has tritium nuclide taken thereinto by isotope exchange, the tritium concentration in the atmosphere 3 becomes low. While the condensation of the water content terminates as the atmosphere temperature gradually reaches a saturation temperature, the concentration of tritium also becomes low. By periodically repeating the above operation, the tritium concentration in the atmosphere 3 in the reactor storage facility is kept always at a value which is equal to, or smaller than, a permissible value. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
