abstract | PURPOSE: To improve flame retardant properties by compounding a rubber component comprising an ethylene-propylene-nonconjugated diene terpolymer having a specified index of branching with a flame retardant component comprising a halogenated flame retardant and Sb 2 O 3 . n CONSTITUTION: A halogenated flame retardant (e.g. decabromodiphenyl oxide) and Sb 2 O 3 are mixed in a wt. ratio of (50:50)-(80:20) to give a flame retardant component. 100 pts.wt. rubber component comprising an ethylene-propylene- nonconjugated diene terpolymer having an index of branching of 2 or higher, 30-60 pts.wt. said flame retardant component, and required amts. of carbon black, process oil, zinc oxide, sulfur, vulcanization accelerator, etc., are compounded. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1992,JPO&Japio |
